Mahirap maging isang guro, inhinyero, doktor o isang abogado.

Think Before You Click

Ika nga nila sa Ingles, "Think before you click!"

Reading is the Key to Success

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers" - Charles W. Elio.

This month we are celebrating the English month with the theme, "Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang Kinabukasan." This theme focuses on reading. Reading is fundamental to functioning in today's society. It is a vital skill in finding a good job. There are reports and memos which must be read and responded to. Poor reading skills increases the amount of time it takes to absorb and react in the workplace. Reading is very important because it develops the mind. Understanding the written word is one way the mind grows in its ability.

A child's reading skills are important to their success in school as they will allow them to access the breadth of the curriculum and improve their communication and language skills. Reading can be a fun, wonderful and imaginative time for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them.

"The pen is mightier than the sword." Ideas written down have changed the destiny of men and nations for better or worse. We need to read and research to build on the good ideas and expose the bad ideas before they bring devastation and destruction. By reading, we can be armed in this never-ending, life-and-death struggle.

Reading is very important. Truly that reading is the key for a better future. The fact of the power of written ideas communicated through reading is a foundational reason why some governments oppose free and honest communication. The more we read, the more we are educated and the more we discover new things. So, drop everything and read.

Filipinos: Strong and Happy

Resilience is the ability to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens. The Philippines is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire. As expected, many natural disasters like earthquakes are experienced. It is also beside the Pacific Ocean where most of the typhoons were formed there. Because of those disasters, Filipinos become resilient. But, does being a resilient a good trait or characteristic Filipinos should have?

Despite the staggering impact from Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, especially Tacloban, in November 2013 and the 7.2 magnitude Bohol Earthquake just weeks before that, the country managed to sustain its economic momentum as its Growth Domestic Product (GDP) finished the year up by a rate of 7.2%. Filipinos have repeatedly been touted as reilient, ever happy, and even bulletproof. Even in the poorest typhoon-hit areas, it only takes a day or two for people to start rebuilding their homes. We Filipinos want to turn the negative into a positive all at once. This is a wonderful trait to have, to be self-reliant and to be a positive thinker. Independence and self-reliance are all fine and good, except that Filipinos know how much we pay our taxes and we know where that money really goes. The good part is we make our way and even earn a living.

Being resilient is a trait one must have. The resiliency of Filipinos is a trait that we are very proud of. We always smile even during and after a disaster. No one can pull us down. We are Filipinos. We smile even our toughest problems. We smile no matter what happens. Proud to be a Filipino!

Duterte's 3rd Message

On Monday, July 23, 2018, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered its 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA). This is an annual address by the president of the Philippines. It is delivered every fourth Monday of July at the Pienary Session Hall of the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Bataan Hills, Quezon City, Metro Manila as mandated by the 1987 Constitution. It serves as a means to inform the nation about its present economic, political, and social condition. It is often broadcasted.

This year's SONA, it lasted only for 50 minutes. One of the points he mentioned is the drug war. This program is the one he first mentioned. Next is the corruption, in which he said he had to fire "friends" due to corruption. Then the Marawi siege in which he recognized the soldiers and police who fought and died in Marawi City. He also mentioned the Boracay closure in which he justified the island's closure as an environmental protection measure. Also, the Disaster Management, in which he calls the congress to pass a law making a national land use policy. What I can say about is good. This SONA is good because our dear president didn't say any bad or malicious word.

In closing, there are many points he had talk about. His points are corruption, drug war and many more. In this SONA, he is good. He didn't say any bad or malicious word. Congratulations, Mr. President! Bravo!

Freedom!

Image result for philippine independence day

One of the most significant event in the Philippine History is the Philippine Independence. On June 12, 1898 in Kawit, Cavite, the Philippines finally got its independence against the Spaniards. It is done by General Emilio Aguinaldo, president of the First Republic of the Philippines, by waving the flag as the sign of freedom here in the Philippines. We celebrate this event in honor and to remember the sacrifices of our courageous and brave ancestors and heroes. They fought the Spaniards, who colonize the Philippines for more than 300 years, with all their might and best. We celebrate this event as a special holiday and it is annually celebrated.

In the Philippines, this is a special holiday. There are no classes in all levels in public and private schools. So, many students are happy because there are no classes. There are also no works and offices. But we must join hand-in-hand and be united in celebrating this event. The main event is the raising of flag where the president is participating and the parade of the police and military in Manila headed by the president, followed by a speech and a 21-gun salute. The importance of this event is to thank , to remember and to honor our heroes and ancestors who bravely fought for our freedom. The Filipinos were then the slaves when we were colonized by the Spaniards with the help of our heroes like Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and other heroes, who are behind the success, we finally claimed our independence.

This event is important to all of us Filipinos. This is the day where we thank and honor our ancestors and heroes. This is the day where we value and give importance to their sacrifices. We must not be scared to other countries because we are born brave, it is in our blood. We Filipinos must celebrate this event with pride, honor and joy.
